A trending breakfast hack has divided TikTok viewers, with some calling it “genius” and others calling it “crime.” So which is it?

Content creators on the platform and home cooks have been making something called “scrambled pancakes.”

Instead of pouring the pancake mix into a skillet or griddle and waiting until the mixture heats and bubbles before flipping it, people stir the batter in the skillet like an egg, mixing it together until they’re left with different-sized pieces of pancakes.

TikTok creator @archivedchef has garnered more than 13.7 million views with his scrambled pancakes video.

The comments section is filled with users calling the hack “blasphemous.”

“I wanted to play around with the concept and give it a humorous twist. It was a fun way to engage the audience and spark a bit of discussion about an unconventional way of cooking.”

One mom named Bec Marsden, who posts on TikTok under the handle “@bekmarsden,” told Fox News Digital that she shared her own interpretation of the trendy treat, calling it a “cross between a funnel cake and a pancake.”

Marsden, who lives in Utah, said she didn’t expect her opinion to be so controversial, but it won’t stop her from trying the trend again.

“I never thought mixing up pancake mix would cause such a stir, but I don’t think it will be the last! It gives pancakes such a unique twist and fun texture. [a] It’s just regular pancake mix,” Marsden said.
