Script supervisor Amy Blanc Lacy from 'The Walking Dead' dies in hit-and-run as suspected driver escapes with golf clubs.

Amy Blanc Lacey, a 62-year-old Hollywood screenwriter, tragically lost her life after being struck by a hit-and-run driver at a golf club in Atlanta earlier this month.

Notably recognized for contributing to over 100 episodes of “The Walking Dead,” Lacey died after being involved in an accident while she was a passenger on Labor Day. The Atlanta Police Department reported that she was in a Toyota Prius driven by her 23-year-old son, Oliver, when a Hyundai Elantra lost control and collided with them on September 1.

The preliminary investigation detailed that Lacey was seated in the back of the Prius. Following the crash, both her sons—Adrian, aged 25, and Oliver—were taken to the hospital.

With more than three decades of experience in the entertainment industry, Lacey fell into a coma after the accident and was put on a ventilator.

Sadly, she passed away on September 5 after life support was withdrawn.

According to reports, the Elantra driver, identified as Buck Rollins, took his golf clubs from the wrecked vehicle and casually walked away from the scene, as noted in a police affidavit.

Allegations against Rollins include driving at reckless speeds—reportedly about 90 mph—when he collided with the Prius.

Rollins ultimately turned himself in to the Fulton County Jail on September 8, claiming he had returned home after experiencing a seizure. He faced serious charges, including vehicular homicide, hit and run, reckless driving, and speeding.

He was released soon after on a $70,000 bond, according to jail records.

Lacey’s funeral took place on September 10, and she is survived by her three children: Lulu, Adrian, and Oliver.

Fundraising efforts have brought in over $60,000 to help cover funeral expenses and other bills.

Lulu Lacey expressed the emotional challenges her young family faces as they deal with the complexities of grief, legal matters, and medical costs. She mentioned in a statement on behalf of the family’s GoFundMe that all three siblings are under 30, struggling with these overwhelming responsibilities.

They also expressed gratitude for the support from friends and the film community during this difficult time.

“One of the things that bring us comfort is that our mother enjoyed every moment she spent with us,” they shared. “As her children, we will always carry her strength, wisdom, and joy with us.”
