Representative Ryan Zinke (R-MT), the founder of SEAL PAC, has launched a provocative ad that draws parallels between communist and socialist dictators and several Democratic lawmakers. Zinke expressed concerns that the U.S. is currently embroiled in “a war of ideologies” against communism and socialism, which he believes is gaining traction among many Americans.
During a conversation with Matthew Boyle on Breitbart News Saturday, Zinke discussed the stark ad that contrasts images of historical communist and socialist figures with known liberal Democrats like New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY), Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Rep. Rashida Tlaib (MI), and Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan.
The advertisement emphasizes that “Throughout history, American heroes have fought against socialism and communism,” while also cautioning that these ideologies are present in America today.
Veterans, including Reps. Derrick Van Orden (R-WI), Eli Crane (R-AZ), Jen Kiggans (R-VA), Pat Harrigan (R-NC), Ronny Jackson (R-TX), and Tom Barrett (R-MI), are portrayed as defenders of American values in Washington, D.C.
Zinke argued, “The Democratic Socialist Party, it’s not a Democratic Socialist Party. It’s communism. And we fought against communism. This is their agenda. We’re dealing with issues like open borders, boys in girls’ sports, violations of property and gun rights, and stacking the courts — that’s communism. They oppose American values and the Constitution.”
He further remarked, “We face a conflict of ideologies. Ultimately, it’s about communism and socialism — and many Americans are accepting this.”
Boyle highlighted that the ad conveys the reality of socialist and communist ideologies in the U.S. and that a “Republican majority in the House and Senate” is the only thing preventing those ideologies from taking hold.
Zinke agreed, stating, “Certainly, we’ve witnessed this abroad, and now it’s here. Look at the agendas of figures like Bernie Sanders and AOC. They’re not aligned with American principles; they openly express desires to pack the courts.”
During the discussion, Boyle mentioned that the seats held by Van Orden, Crane, and Kiggans are among the country’s most competitive. Zinke described how other candidates, including Rob Wittman in Virginia, face tight races. While Wittman isn’t a veteran, Zinke noted his support for veteran issues and mentioned that SEAL PAC is focusing on about 18 veteran-affiliated seats, rotating six candidates in their ad campaigns based on the state.
Zinke also shared his “deep suspicions about the polls” and affirmed his belief that America isn’t leaning towards communism.
