Diddy Awaits Verdict in Manhattan Trial
Sean “Diddy” Combs is anxiously waiting to learn his fate after judges began their deliberations on Monday in a high-profile trial related to serious allegations against him. The discussions follow nearly two months filled with dramatic testimonies.
The jury, which consists of eight men and four women, entered the courtroom around 11:30 AM to start considering five felony charges directed at the founder of Bad Boy Records.
Over the course of seven weeks, the court heard from 34 witnesses, including Combs’ then-pregnant ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura and another former companion who appeared under the pseudonym “Jane.”
The jury was presented with extensive evidence, including hundreds of text messages and explicit videos relating to the alleged activities, which were described in detail throughout the trial.
Prosecutors repeatedly showcased notorious footage of an altercation between Combs and Ventura that occurred in a Los Angeles hotel corridor back in 2016.
At 55 years old, Combs has been present for every moment of these shocking proceedings, which have taken place in a Brooklyn courtroom following his arrest in September 2024.
The music mogul faces charges that include two counts of sex trafficking, one conspiracy charge related to assault, and two counts involving prostitution. He could serve life in prison if convicted on even one of the serious charges.
Ventura testified for four days during the trial’s first week, detailing her tumultuous relationship with the rapper. She claimed that he often pressured her to participate in what he termed “freak-off” while she was under the influence of drugs.
She also alleged that Combs threatened to release a video of a sexual encounter in a bid to continue their sexual activities.
Prosecutors argued that Combs has operated a criminal enterprise for two decades, manipulating staff to handle various illegal activities, securing drugs for these encounters, and even resorting to intimidation and bribery to tamper with witnesses.
In a particularly shocking claim, it was mentioned that he allegedly broke into rapper Kid Cudi’s home and damaged a car using a Molotov cocktail after discovering Ventura had dated him briefly.
Combs, who chose not to testify in his defense, has pleaded not guilty to all charges. His legal team maintains that the women involved willingly participated in the activities described.
On Monday morning, Manhattan federal judge Arun Subramanian initiated the proceedings by instructing the jury to begin their deliberations.
