Manhunt for Armed Suspect in Montana
On Friday morning, law enforcement officials in Montana focused their search on a suspect connected to the alleged murder of at least four people. They discovered a white Ford F-150 believed to have been used by the suspect during his escape, but he was not found in the vicinity of the vehicle.
The shooting suspect has been identified as 45-year-old Michael Paul Brown, a resident of Anaconda. Authorities have warned that he is armed and considered dangerous.
Last seen in the Stamptown area, Brown was photographed walking barefoot and shirtless on outdoor concrete stairs, which was released by the Anaconda Deer Lodge County Law Enforcement Center Saturday.
Brown was reportedly last spotted wearing black shorts following the incident at a local bar around 10 AM.
According to a statement from DCI administrator Lee Johnson on Friday evening, although they located the getaway truck, there were no signs of Brown in or near it.
After the vehicle’s discovery, searches intensified in the mountains near Stumptown Road. Police also checked Brown’s home but found no trace of him. So far, there have been no reports of him causing further harm, but residents have been urged to stay indoors and remain alert.
Authorities have been notified of potential sightings over the weekend, adding urgency to the ongoing manhunt. Anyone who sees Brown is advised to avoid him and immediately call 911. He is described as approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing around 170 pounds, with blue eyes and brown hair.
Authorities have identified the four victims of the shooting, but their names will be withheld until all family members are informed and it is deemed appropriate to release that information.
Brown has a military background, having served as a crew member from January 2001 to May 2005 and in the National Guard from April 2006 to March 2008. His deployments included Iraq from February 2004 to March 2005.
