Manhunt Continues for Suspect in Arkansas Couple’s Murder
The search for the suspect in the murder of an Arkansas couple hiking in Devil’s Den State Park entered its fourth day on Tuesday.
On Monday night, Arkansas State Police released a composite sketch of a man believed to be involved. Authorities are particularly interested in individuals seen in the park on Saturday.
Clinton Brink, 43, and Cristan Brink, 41, were discovered dead on a trail in the park on Saturday afternoon. Fortunately, their two young daughters, ages 9 and 7, were not harmed and are currently safe with family, according to police.
Details regarding the motive or the circumstances surrounding the couple’s deaths remain scarce. However, police mentioned in the sketch statement that the suspect may have been injured during the attack. No further information has been disclosed at this time.
The family of the couple released a statement on Monday, emphasizing their need for privacy while encouraging the public to come forward with any information that could aid the investigation. “Clinton and Kristan lost their lives protecting their little girl, and they deserve justice,” the statement read. It concluded with a heartfelt message: “They will live forever in all our hearts.”
Having just relocated from South Dakota to a small town in Prairie Grove, Arkansas, the family had only recently connected their water supply. According to the mayor, David Falk, Clinton was set to start his job as a milk delivery driver in nearby Fayetteville on the following Monday.
Authorities described the suspect as a white man of medium build, who was seen wearing a long-sleeved shirt with rolled-up sleeves, dark pants, a dark baseball cap, sunglasses, and fingerless gloves. The suspect was also carrying a black backpack.
Moreover, police reported that the individual was spotted driving a black four-door sedan, likely a Mazda, with tape obscuring the license plate. It might have been traveling on Route 170 or 220 when it left the park.
Officials are urging anyone who was in Devil’s Den on Saturday to examine any photos or videos they might have taken for potential images of the suspect.
The couple’s bodies have been sent to the state crime lab to determine the cause of death. Devil’s Den State Park, situated about 140 miles northwest of Little Rock, is a vast 2,500-acre area known for its hiking trails and rocky formations.
