Seattle teens charged after allegedly hitting pedestrians with cars in Nov. 2023

More than two months have passed since two teenagers were arrested Thursday in Washington after they allegedly targeted two pedestrians with their cars on separate occasions, police said.

Detectives and Community Response Group officers arrested a 15-year-old boy and a 13-year-old girl in Snohomish County shortly after 11 a.m. in connection with the Nov. 26 incident, Seattle police said in a Thursday news release. did. , 2023, Incident.

Details about the suspect’s identity have not been released because of his age.

Seattle police released footage of the vehicular assault on Dec. 8 in an effort to find the suspect, and two seriously injured victims were urged to contact authorities.

Seattle police said they spent “countless hours” trying to identify the suspects allegedly involved in the crime and were able to gather the evidence needed to arrest the boy and girl.

Police were also able to recover the vehicle used in the attack, which turned out to be stolen.

The arrested teens are suspected of being involved in two separate incidents in which two vehicles intentionally struck pedestrians in North Seattle on November 26th.

At 1:50 a.m., surveillance camera footage showed a vehicle intentionally hitting a woman on North 107th Street west of Aurora Avenue North. Detectives said cellphone video they found showed someone inside the car saying, “Hit this!” before the woman was mowed down. FOX 13 Seattle. In the video, people in the car can be heard laughing as they drive away.

A similar incident occurred the same day, at an unspecified time, in the 9600 block of Aurora Avenue North. Seattle police said cellphone video of the incident showed the driver hitting a person walking in the bus lane, hitting him from behind and sending him flying onto the hood of the car.

“Based on the speed of the impact, the victim was likely seriously injured,” Seattle police said in a statement in December.

Both teens were charged with assault, possession of a stolen vehicle, and hit-and-run causing injury.

They were taken into custody without incident and booked into the Judge Patricia H. Clark Child and Family Justice Center.
