Secret Service agent Dan Bongino Trump near assassination

Dan Bongino, a former Secret Service agent and now conservative political commentator, has been sounding the alarm about the Secret Service’s problems for “decades.”

He even wrote a book about it. “Protecting the President: Inside a Troubled Secret Service in an Evolving Threat Era”

“You’re thinking, ‘Oh my gosh, he wrote this 10 minutes ago?’ No, he wrote it 10 years ago,” he says. Glenn BeckIt sheds light on long-standing problems within the Secret Service.

In August 2023, Bongino warned on his show that he had received “information from a senior Secret Service official” about the “minimum security regime being applied to Donald Trump.”

But when he predicted that “Donald Trump will likely be injured or killed,” the mainstream media “attacked.” [him] As a conspiracy theorist.”

On July 13, Bongino’s theory was proven correct, and the same people falsely calling themselves journalists are now retracting their statements.

“The level of incompetence naturally leads to the second question, and it’s not a crazy thing to ask,” Bongino responded.

But Bongino has some doubts about the “staggering” incompetence.

“Why was President Trump at … so-called X? Why was he at the podium?” he asked. “He knew there was a threat an hour, maybe 18 minutes out,” he said. “Absolutely not.” zero It is unlikely that the command post would not have received information that a suspicious man was operating outside the perimeter, watching with a rangefinder.”

“They let the line-of-sight threats go unchecked and, through a surveillance vulnerability assessment, which is a document that the surveillance team reviews, Already knew “It was a weak spot and the authorities did nothing,” he continued. “In essence, they allowed him to be shot.”

“They’ll claim it’s confidential,” Bongino said of the documents, “but it’s not.”

The Secret Service has given other excuses to justify its actions, including that it was “too hot,” “the roof was sloping,” and that guards were stationed on the first floor of the building.
