A U.S. Secret Service agent was robbed at gunpoint during a fundraising visit to Los Angeles for President Joe Biden.
The agent was walking home from work Saturday night when he encountered the Secret Service in a residential area of Tustin, about an hour southeast of Los Angeles. He told the Associated Press.
Police told the outlet that as of Monday no suspects had been found, adding that a silver Infiniti FX35 was seen leaving the scene.
Tustin police said the agent’s bag was stolen at gunpoint, adding that the agent fired his gun during the incident, according to the Associated Press. The Secret Service said it was unclear whether anyone was shot in the shooting, adding that no agents were injured. ABC News The agent was off duty at the time.
According to the Associated Press, police were called to the robbery just after 9:30 p.m. and officers found some of the agent’s stolen belongings at the scene.
