Secret Service Director Sean Curran offers behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to become an agent

US Secret Service Director Sean Curran is looking for “the best and brightest” to leave the agency better than he found when President Donald Trump appointed him to lead, but he isn’t trying to lower the standard.

“You live in a different life [as an agent]. You are alive [by] Someone else’s schedule,” Curran said in an exclusive sit-in featured by “My View” host Lara Trump on Saturday’s show.

He said it’s not easy to find someone who will always try to adhere to other people’s schedules.

“The job is to find great people, great moments, and just to find that right person… Sometimes they find you,” he added.

Curran went through everything, including standing on Trump’s side in Butler, Pennsylvania last summer, with bullets passing by his face and grazing his ears before standing fresh. He also had the opportunity to participate in a heartwarming opportunity to provide terminal cancer survivor DJ Daniel with his own secret service qualifications in Trump’s joint speech to Congress earlier this year.

But last year, a fateful presidential brush-like moment on the Pennsylvania field is a call to action for Secret Service agents who are extensively trained to act almost instinctively in any possible situation.

Lara Trump herself saw what it takes to become a member of the Elite Conservation Force as Curran watches Fox News viewers behind the scenes how complicated the Elite Force training process is.

At the Raleigh Training Center, a tactical village of the US Secret Service, she got behind the wheel, conducted J-turns on a protective driving course, watched the emergency response team’s dogs, and witnessed the full-scale simulated White House, a project that has been underway over the years.

“[Agents] You have to see what it’s like to be in the White House. It is an important complex that you should know. There are a lot of ins and outs, and there are simple things that local fire stations will show up to help with the fire… they need to know where they are heading. So it is important to our mission for the White House to have a training facility that reflects the inches and details in detail,” Curran explained.

Curran has been sworn in as the 28th Director of the US Secret Service by Homeland Security Sec. Christie Noem last month.

Curran says he wants “the best thing for the agency” and tells Trump that putting the right people in the right place will solve many problems.

“This agency is made up of so many special people and I’m just looking for new talent wherever I go,” he added.
