Secret Service investigating report agent left post to breastfeed during Trump campaign event

The Secret Service is investigating reports that a female agent left her post to breastfeed at a Trump campaign event in North Carolina.

The Secret Service confirmed the allegations and released a statement to Fox News Digital saying the investigation is ongoing.

“All United States Secret Service employees are held to the highest standards of their job. While the incident in North Carolina was not affected, the details of this incident remain under investigation. As this is a personnel matter, we are not in a position to comment further,” a spokesperson for the agency said.

The incident reportedly happened during former President Trump’s campaign rally in Asheville on Wednesday.

RealClearPolitics’ Susan Crabtree first reported the allegations, saying a female Secret Service agent had abandoned her post at a Trump event and breastfed “without giving permission or warning to event venue officials.”

“An agent in the field was making one last check of the walking route when he discovered an agent breastfeeding her child in a room that is supposed to be reserved for essential official Secret Service business, such as emergencies related to the President,” Crabtree wrote in X’s post.

Crabtree added that agents on duty cannot take children on protective missions. The agent in question was an agent in the Atlanta bureau, she said.

This latest incident comes as the department faces increased scrutiny following the July 13 assassination attempt on President Trump, raising further questions and concerns about the department’s culture and staffing.
