Sen. Elissa Slotkin, who responded to President Donald Trump's speech to Congress last week, confirmed Sunday that Democrats are facing an internal struggle.
“I'm very easy,” Slotkin said in an interview with NBC News host Christine Welker about “Meet the Press.”
She also emphasized that Democrats don't have a clear strategy to beat Trump or even clear leaders.
“I don't think it's hidden,” she said of the Democratic Party's loss of trust after his defeat to Trump. “I think it's us that we have a lot of leaders, not just leadership, but also strategies that are clear. It's because Trump is successful in flooding the zone, so I don't think we'll get better until we admit that we're still having problems, just like 15 things happening every day.”

“For me, that's one of the things that I think some of the new voices of the party are really excited about. A new senator, a new representative, 'Hey, we need to do more. We need to show that we're actually planning to stand up to the important moments.' That's what I'm trying to do from within. ”
On Sunday's ABC's “this week,” Sen. Adam Schiff of D-Calif lamented that his party had a “lack of coordinated response” to Trump's speech.
