Sen. Fetterman Expresses Gratitude to Trump Administration for Infrastructure Initiatives in Pennsylvania

Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) expressed gratitude towards the Trump administration for unveiling over $600 million in grants aimed at Pennsylvania’s Infrastructure Project while emphasizing his intention to collaborate across party lines.

Secretary Sean Duffy is set to distribute funds for 53 projects throughout the state, potentially increasing the total to around $1.2 billion, as reported by The Philadelphia Inquirer.

The grants are part of a considerable backlog of federal funding approved earlier but are not required by the Biden administration, as noted in a statement last month to Breitbart News.

An official indicated to The Inquirer that the ten “priority grants” previously discussed with Fetterman have already cleared review, with two being mandatory.

“I’ve made it clear that I’m willing to work across the aisle, find common ground, and achieve victories for Pennsylvania. After some productive meetings, I want to thank @SecDuffy for keeping his word and setting politics aside,” Fetterman shared on social media.

“We are in the process of releasing $1 billion in infrastructure funds for our state,” added the Democratic senator.

He had met with Duffy before his confirmation, and after their discussions, he showed support for the appointees made by Trump.

Following Duffy’s appointment as Transport Secretary, which received backing from 23 Democrats, including Fetterman, the two continued to collaborate.

“During my visit to Secretary Duffy’s office in April, he welcomed me warmly and graciously,” Fetterman remarked in a statement to The Inquirer. “I’ve collaborated across party lines and sincerely fought for these vital infrastructure projects. Now, over a billion dollars in at-risk funding is on the right track.”

“Secretary Duffy and I have set aside politics to ensure our nation’s infrastructure is strengthened through bipartisan efforts,” he noted.

Fetterman has displayed support for the administration’s policies while also critiquing some of his fellow Democrats in recent months. He has voiced backing for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and defended President Donald Trump’s position on Iran, describing it as a “right move,” while also calling out his party for alleged support of Hamas terrorists.
