Sen. John Fetterman and Wife Hospitalized After Car Crash in Maryland

Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pennsylvania) and his wife, Gisele, were hospitalized after being involved in a car accident on a Maryland highway Sunday morning.

A spokesperson for Fetterman’s office confirmed to Breitbart News that the couple are currently at their home in Braddock, Pennsylvania, and are “doing well” after receiving treatment at War Memorial Hospital in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia.

A spokesman confirmed that the couple had been “involved in a car accident” and were taken to hospital “as an abundance of caution”, with the senator “receiving treatment for a bruised shoulder”.

“On Sunday morning, John and Gisele were in a car accident with another driver,” a spokesperson said in a statement. “As a precaution, they were checked out at a local hospital. John was treated for a bruised shoulder and released from the hospital that afternoon. They are both doing well and are happy to be back in Braddock.”

Fetterman was reportedly driving a Chevrolet Traverse at the time, when he rear-ended a Chevrolet Impala while traveling on I-70 in Hancock, Maryland. Located near the Pennsylvania-West Virginia border, a Maryland State Police spokesman said. Daily Mail.

“Based on the preliminary investigation, a Chevrolet Traverse and a Chevrolet Impala were both traveling westbound on Interstate 70 when, for an unknown reason, the Traverse struck the rear of the Impala,” a Maryland State Police spokesperson said.

“The passenger in the Traverse and the driver of the Impala were taken by ambulance to War Memorial Hospital for treatment to their injuries,” the spokesman added.

Fetterman, currently serving his first term as a senator from Pennsylvania, has had a variety of health issues. In May 2022, Fetterman, who was then Pennsylvania’s lieutenant governor, revealed he had suffered a stroke. Fetterman won the November election, defeating Republican candidate Mehmet Oz.

A few months later, in February 2023, it was revealed that Fetterman had been hospitalized for treatment for clinical depression. Since then, Fetterman has spoken publicly about his depression.
