Florida Senator Rick Scott showcased an aerial advertisement over New York City on Saturday, urging locals to consider relocating to Florida to escape socialism.
The banner was spotted above popular spots like Coney Island and Jones Beach, as beachgoers soaked up the sun.
His message read: “Do you hate socialism? We too! We’ll move 2 fl.”
In a statement, Scott mentioned the aerial campaign, saying, “While many New Yorkers enjoy the beach this weekend, Florida offers a friendly reminder that you can escape socialism here.”
Scott’s comments also noted displeasure with New York City and its current political climate. He reflected on how the city once epitomized the American Dream, but now it seems to favor billionaires while Jewish students face hostility on campuses. Moreover, he criticized the rise of what he termed radical socialism in the city.
Scott stated, “Today, it is now a city where only billionaires thrive, Jewish students are attacked on campus, capitalism is avoided, and radical socialists like Zoran Mamdani are celebrated.”
Mamdani recently triumphed over former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo in the Democratic mayoral primary and has emerged as a key contender in city politics. However, many within the Democratic Party remain hesitant about fully endorsing socialist candidates.
Scott emphasized that New York City had benefited from capitalism. He described it as “the best system in the world” that is apparently deteriorating due to Democratic policies across the country.
“Democrats are working around the clock to trust President Trump, tearing apart our nation and attempting to reshape it with radical socialist ideas,” Scott remarked. He argued that these concepts have historically failed, referencing families who fled from oppressive regimes in Cuba and Venezuela to find stability in Florida.
In his position, Scott emphasized his contributions to helping his Florida community achieve their American dreams—through job opportunities, education, and safety.
He added, “It’s a shame the American dream is slipping away in New York. New York families deserve better.”
