Sen. Tim Scott says President Biden ‘resegregated’ US schools because of anti-charter stance

Sen. Tim Scott slammed President Biden for his opposition to school choice, claiming he is “resegregating” America.

Scott, 58, a Republican from South Carolina who is widely seen as a leading candidate to be former President Donald Trump’s running mate, argued that Trump would provide more opportunities for black students.

“You only need to look at cities like Chicago today to see that with the elimination of charter schools under Joe Biden’s administration, America’s schools have been resegregated,” Scott said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union.”

“What we need is four years of common sense under Donald Trump, not four years of racism under Joe Biden.”

The South Carolina native also recalled Vice President Kamala Harris’ famous debate with the 81-year-old Biden in 2019, during which she slammed him for his past. Public opposition Federally mandated bus transportation.

“If you’re really concerned about racial equality in America, you have to remember that Joe Biden is a man who has spoken about a racial jungle as a result of post-racial segregation,” Scott scolded, “and his own vice president, Kamala Harris, has also spoken out in support of racism.”

Harris’ criticism of Biden came at the height of the 2020 Democratic primary campaign, and although the exchange became controversial, Biden ultimately chose her to be his running mate.

“Our nation’s biggest urban schools are becoming resegregated, and Joe Biden’s Education Department has thwarted the growth of charter schools that offer more diversity and opportunity,” he said.

The Washington Post reached out to the Biden-Harris campaign for comment but did not immediately receive a response.

Scott also spoke out about Donald Trump’s 34-count hush-payment case in Manhattan, in which Trump is accused of falsifying business records to hide payments to quell negative press.

“Well, I think they’re actually going to find him innocent because there’s no crime,” Scott said. “Only the district attorney can find him guilty in court.” [Alvin] Bragg was found guilty of corrupting the justice system, dereliction of duty and attempting to frame an innocent man.

“It is precisely this dual justice system that has many Americans concerned about the fairness of our country.”

Trump has denied any wrongdoing and has pleaded not guilty to all charges against him.
