Senate Candidate Withdraws From Fundraiser After Co-Host's Alleged Connection to Epstein in Transporting Girls

Dan Osborn Cancels Fundraiser Amid Controversy

Dan Osborn, an independent candidate for the Nebraska Senate, has called off a fundraiser that was set for Tuesday. This event was supposed to be co-hosted by Dana Chasin, a Democratic political consultant who is reportedly linked to Jeffrey Epstein and his alleged activities.

Chasin has a history of involvement in high-profile political campaigns, including advising Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential run, and has contributed over $2 million to the Democratic Party. The cancellation was first reported by Politico, with an anonymous spokesperson from Osborn’s campaign stating, “Those who harm children and engage in other illegal activity must be arrested and prosecuted.”

Recently released documents from the Department of Justice have shed light on Chasin’s connections to Epstein. These include an email where an attorney representing alleged victims of Epstein’s sex trafficking claims Chasin flew a woman to Epstein’s New York residence multiple times and had inappropriate interactions with key political figures.

In a Monday letter, Osborn expressed concerns about a “small group of powerful elites” operating above the law. His comments signal a broader critique of those in positions of influence, emphasizing a belief that they often escape accountability.

Interestingly, records from the Federal Election Commission reveal that Chasin previously made a donation of $3,300 to Osborn’s unsuccessful 2024 Senate campaign. Osborn’s campaign mentioned that they matched this contribution to a Nebraska nonprofit that focuses on fighting child trafficking and abuse.

Looking ahead, Osborn is gearing up for a challenge against Republican candidate Pete Ricketts in the 2026 election. While he identifies as independent, he has received support from the Nebraska Democratic Party, which currently has no official candidates in the race. As of now, Osborn’s campaign has not responded to inquiries from other media outlets.
