The senator voted 52-48 on Thursday to monitor an estimated $1.7 trillion budget and served as the nation's health bureaucracy.
Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY.) was the only Republican with all Democrats to vote against Kennedy, similar to the Talsi Gabbard confirmation hearing on Wednesday.
Known as a vaccine skeptic, Kennedy was supported by Senators Susan Collins (R Maine) and Lisa Markowski (R-Alaska).
“I continue to be concerned about Kennedy's views on the vaccine and the selective interpretation of scientific research that first sparked my anxiety about his appointment,” Murkowski said Wednesday.
“Vaccinations have saved millions of lives. As a secretary to HHS, I assure you that people will not do anything to make it difficult for people to take the vaccine or block vaccination efforts. I did.”
“He has made many commitments to me and my colleagues. He works with Congress to ensure public access to information and based on data-driven, evidence-based, medically sound research. It is based on vaccine recommendations,” she added.
“These commitments are important to me, and I balance it and provide a guarantee of my vote.”
Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-La.), another Republican skeptic who chairs the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, promises that RFK Jr. will meet with him regularly, and he The importance of the vaccine he promised to understand, but he placed his support behind him.
Kennedy is known for criticizing the safety and effectiveness of polio, measles and hepatitis vaccines. He wrote several books on the issue and established a nonprofit Children's Health Defense that has previously sued drugs and government businesses over vaccines.
Due to his opposition to the vaccine, RFK Jr. faced heavy criticism from members of his former political party during a confirmation hearing before the Senate Aid Committee.
What's more, he's largely ruined his chances of receiving Republican support despite repeatedly saying he's a “pro vaccine.”
Through the rocky confirmation process, former Democrats vet Kennedy by the panel to ensure that most Republicans become the next health secretary, including Senate Treasury Committee Chairman Mike Krapo (R-Idaho). I had acquired that.
“Mr. Kennedy's decades of experience and deep willingness to advocate for consumers sets a patient-centric tone in the department.
During his first confirmation hearing, Kennedy attracted attention for his eye-opening statistics revealed about chronic illness and increased obesity in the United States
“When my uncle was president, 3% of Americans were obese. Today, 74% of Americans are obese or overweight,” said RFK Jr. at the hearing. -Wis.) told. “The epidemic is not caused by genes. Something is addictive to the American people, and we know that the main perpetrator is a change in our food supply.”
“As demonstrated in both public and private settings, Kennedy is committed to reorienting his approach to healthcare and restoring his faith in our institutions,” Crapo said. On the Senate floor, the candidate said, “saving lives, reducing costs, reducing costs, reducing costs, establishing a foundation for a healthier, stronger country.”
