Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pennsylvania, confirmed he will meet with President-elect Trump ahead of the former president and president-elect's second inauguration on Jan. 20.
“President Trump invited me to meet with him and I accepted,” Fetterman told Fox News on Thursday. “I'm a senator for all of Pennsylvania, not just Pennsylvania Democrats.” Ta.
“It's clear that no one is my gatekeeper,” he added. “I'm willing to meet and talk with anyone if it's for the good of Pennsylvania and the nation.”
A person familiar with the meeting told Fox Digital it will be held at Mar-a-Lago over the weekend. This is the first known meeting between Trump and a sitting Democratic senator at Mar-a-Lago.

Mr. Fetterman, who supported Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential race, is one of the few Democrats who has spoken publicly about Mr. Trump's strong support among voters, especially in his home state of Pennsylvania, a battleground state. There was only one person.
“There's a difference between not understanding something and knowing it exists,” Fetterman said. told the New York Times October for Trump. “And anyone who spends time behind the wheel knows the intensity of it. It's amazing.”

“I've said all along, whether it's Biden or then Harris, it's going to be very close, and Trump is definitely going to be very close here in Pennsylvania,” Fetterman said. “He has a connection with voters, and that's why he will approach them.” He spoke on CNN's “State of the Union” in November, ahead of Election Day.

Trump ultimately won Pennsylvania, a state critical to Trump securing the overall election. Fetterman said after his win that it was a “serious distortion” and criticized Democratic rhetoric that had tried to denounce Trump as a “fascist” before the election.

“I think this election was a profound change for the brothers. And it was weird to see the Democrats be like, 'Oh, that's just the way it is, the cat lady who doesn't have kids.'” Yeah. “I absolutely love people who are going to vote for Trump. They're not fascists. They're not like that. Once the tickle switch is turned on and they use words like that, it's hard to backtrack. I think that's a little difficult.''Those are words that don't really work with voters, and scolding them harder and clutching their pearls harder never work with Democrats,'' Fetterman said.
