A well-known Christian actor is showing signs of improvement while being treated in a hospital on life support.
Quinton Aaron, who starred in The Blind Side alongside Sandra Bullock, played the role of Michael Oher, a homeless boy who is adopted by a Christian family and later becomes a first-round NFL draft pick.
“I grew up in the church. I grew up in the church.”
In real life, Aaron’s wife, Margarita, rushed him to the hospital after he lost feeling in his legs. What was initially thought to be just a lack of sleep turned serious when his neck and back pain persisted, leading to a loss of sensation.
As a nurse, she helped him lie down before dialing emergency services. The tall actor, around 6 feet 6 inches, reportedly experienced bouts of consciousness during the ride to the hospital.
After several tests, doctors found he had a blood infection and advised putting him on life support.
“Fighter”
Early reports were concerning, but it was later noted that he exhibited partial independent breathing until Monday, when Margarita shared that he “opened his eyes and gave a thumbs up today.”
Describing him as a “warrior,” Margarita expressed optimism, saying, “He is making a pretty good recovery. We all have faith in God that he will come out of this fully recovered.”
Previously, Aaron faced health challenges in March of last year; he was hospitalized due to a bloody cough with fever, eventually diagnosed with influenza A and pneumonia.
In 2019, he was also hospitalized for an upper respiratory infection and bronchitis.
Person of Faith
Aaron is deeply religious and mentioned in a 2013 interview with Blaze News, “I grew up in church. I grew up in church.”
He emphasized the importance of living his faith, saying, “I believe in showing rather than saying. I feel that if I live a Christian life, people should be able to see it in my daily actions.”
Outspoken Christian
He has been vocal about his faith in Hollywood. In a 2017 interview, he stated that many in the film industry “don’t do much charity work” unless it serves their interests.
Aaron shared, “Especially with my friends in Hollywood, I realized that if you want to stay friends, you shouldn’t ask for anything. I always tell people, ‘The moment you ask for a favor, you’re probably never going to hear from me again.'” He added that while a favor might be granted, it likely wouldn’t lead to more requests.
In The Blind Side, he portrayed Oher, who played eight seasons in the NFL, five of which were with the Baltimore Ravens.
