Seven Arrested in Jewelry Store Robbery
Seven men are accused of robbing a jewelry store in their country before crossing into the U.S. to commit similar crimes, according to police reports.
One of the suspects allegedly cut through the roof of a jewelry shop in Glendale, California on May 27. They managed to escape that day, prompting an investigation that eventually led to the identification of the group.
On Sunday, June 29, 2025, authorities received a tip about another planned heist at Rodeo Jewellers on Foothill Boulevard in Raverne. As the suspect tried to enter through the roof, police coordinated to detain them. They also used a signal jammer and cut wires during this incident, law enforcement stated.
In a separate incident, over 100 looters were seen targeting an AutoZone, raising concerns about a potential street takeover in LA.
While eight suspects were spotted at the jewelry store robbery scene, only seven were apprehended. Police confirmed that these suspects are foreigners linked to a series of similar crimes both in their home countries and the U.S.
The suspects have been named as Jose Mirafil, Javier Sepulveda, Christian Gonzalezabrut, Luca Pasitiani, Bella Mattias, Victor Iturigalopez, and Edson Gonzalez. However, no details about their countries of origin were provided.
Just a short 30-minute drive from Raverne, another jewelry store, owned by the Mezza family, experienced a significant loss estimated at $1.5 million due to theft.
Authorities have acknowledged a rise in organized theft targeting jewelry stores throughout Los Angeles County, but they haven’t confirmed if the Mezza store burglary is connected to this particular group.
