Seventh Suspect Indicted for Viral Cincinnati Brawl
The seventh individual linked to the Cincinnati incident on July 26 has been indicted, stirring a significant reaction on social media.
According to prison records, 32-year-old Gregory Wright faces charges of aggravated rioting and robbery. His bond is set at $50,000 for the riot charges and $100,000 for robbery. As of Monday morning, he was still in custody.
Wright’s next court date is scheduled for Thursday.
In his initial court appearance, he pleaded not guilty. Allegations specify that he, alongside others, stole a necklace from a victim during the downtown brawl that erupted around 3 a.m. The complaint indicates that the force of the attack severed the necklace from the victim’s neck, while Wright filmed the chaotic scene.
Court records from Hamilton County reveal that Wright has been arrested 22 times before, with charges ranging from traffic violations to more serious offenses like drug trafficking and firearms possession. He pleaded guilty to heroin trafficking in 2014, faced drug possession charges in 2016, and had further convictions related to firearms in 2021, though he was placed on probation.
Wright was represented in court by private attorney Carl Lewis. Other suspects connected to the incident include Dominique Kittle, Dequila Vernon, and Jermaine Matthews, all facing various charges, including felony assault and aggravated rioting.
Monty Merriweather’s bond set at $500,000 is also noteworthy, as he faces federal gun charges. Meanwhile, Jermaine Matthews was allowed to remain free on a $250,000 bond, pending a court appearance on similar charges, while Kittle awaits a mental health assessment.
Among the female suspects, Dekyra Vernon was able to reduce her bond significantly, while Aisha Devarn received a low bond amount as well.
Additionally, Patrick Rosemond was formally arrested after being extradited from Georgia, with allegations that he delivered a severe blow to a victim, named Holly, resulting in significant trauma.
