A registered sex offender has been arrested following a series of alleged assaults on women in the San Fernando Valley, which police say included six incidents in just one day.
Damien Denzel Robinson, 29, was taken into custody after an investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department linked him to these attacks, which occurred over a six-hour period across North Hills, Northridge, and Winnetka.
On Sunday, a woman named Monica reported Robinson, claiming he groped her inside a Vallarta grocery store. She expressed her feelings, saying, “I feel very violated. It’s like my personal space is being invaded. You’re trying to process what’s happening to you in the moment.”
Authorities identified Robinson as a suspect by reviewing surveillance footage from several businesses. Reports indicate he filmed some of the assaults using his cell phone.
The series of attacks began around 9:10 a.m. on Sunday at an intersection in North Hills, where an elderly woman reported that a man pulled down his pants, assaulted her, and then ran away.
About 45 minutes later, another elderly woman in Northridge claimed the same man attempted to pull down his pants, but she managed to confront him, causing him to flee.
A few moments later, a third victim near Lassen and Encino streets reported that the suspect approached her from behind, grabbing and sexually assaulting her while recording the incident on his phone.
The assaults continued throughout the day, including one incident around 11:15 a.m. at a food market in Winnetka.
Another woman reported a similar assault around 12:30 p.m. at a market on Mason Avenue and Sherman Way, where Robinson again exposed himself.
Later in the afternoon, around 3:20 p.m., a woman in a retail store’s restroom reported someone was recording her from underneath a stall with a cell phone.
Robinson, who has a history of convictions for indecent exposure and lewd conduct, is now facing charges of sexual assault and other sex-related felonies.
Police noted that the investigation remains active, and they suspect there may be more victims yet to come forward.
