Vice President Vance Critiques Media Attack on Trump
WASHINGTON – On Wednesday, Vice President JD Vance criticized the mainstream media for what he called a “disgraceful” attack on President Donald Trump’s efforts to end the Russia-Ukraine war.
Vance’s remarks came during a lunchtime conversation at Shake Shack in Union Station, where he was joined by national security personnel. The discussion mainly revolved around the administration’s recent success in combating crime in Washington, D.C.
“What do you think of the media’s criticism of President Trump’s initiative to conclude the Russia-Ukraine war?” a reporter from Breitbart News asked amidst the noise of the restaurant and the chants from Pro-Palestinian demonstrators nearby.
“The president has campaigned as a leader of peace. He’s already managed to end six conflicts and is striving to resolve another one. It’s disgraceful how American media attacks a president who seeks to promote peace, especially when he’s also focused on restoring order in our cities,” Vance responded.
“We’re the greatest nation, housing moms, dads, and families. Shouldn’t they be able to enjoy public spaces without compromising their safety? It’s remarkable how long it has taken to restore common sense and lawfulness to D.C., reflecting a failure in leadership over generations,” he continued.
After media access was limited, Vance shared a meal with National Guard members and expressed gratitude for their role in maintaining security in the capital.
“We appreciate the National Guard and officers for keeping the area safe. Notably, there’s been a 35% decrease in violent crime over the last nine days, and robberies have decreased by 50%,” he noted.
Miller, another attendee, further criticized the protesters outside, labeling them “crazy communists” and “silly white hippies.”
