My uncle confesses.
Shannon Sharpe has admitted she feels “embarrassed” and “disappointed” after the sex tape she accidentally released to her 3.2 million Instagram followers went viral.
On Wednesday, the Pro Football Hall of Famer and ESPN personality unknowingly shared a livestream on social media that showed him engaging in a sexual act with a woman he did not know.
Though all that was visible on the screen was a wooden floor, viewers could hear Sharpe and the woman moaning and using NSFW language.
“Obviously it's embarrassing,” Sharp said during an emergency broadcast of “Nightcap.”
“He is an extremely private person and for the audio, one of his most private details, to be made public for the entire world to see is embarrassing for a number of reasons.”
He continued, “There are a lot of people who expect Shannon to be professional at all times. I try to be professional at all times, even behind closed doors. … I'm very disappointed, not in the performance, but in myself.”
“I think there are millions, maybe billions, of people of consent age who are engaged in this activity and I'm disappointed that there's audio. I've let a lot of people down,” he added.
Sharp initially claimed his Instagram account had been hacked in a post to X, but later deleted the post.
“Please be aware that my @shannonsharpe84 Instagram was hacked this morning. Me and my team are working tirelessly to figure this out,” he said. The photo was posted to an Instagram story and then deleted. Wednesday.
After the video went viral on social media, Sharp acknowledged the unfortunate incident and confirmed that his Instagram account had not been hacked.
“I was engrossed in some activity and tossed my phone on the bed,” Sharp said. “I didn't know about Instagram Live. I'd never had Instagram Live on so I didn't know how it worked, and all of a sudden my other phone started ringing.”
Sharp, 56, is known for keeping his relationship history private and has never been married.
Not much is known about the women he has dated in the past, other than the fact that he was engaged to fitness trainer Katie Kellner in 2016.
The former Denver Broncos star is father to son Kiari and daughters Kayla and Kaylee, but there's very little information about their mother.
