The investor slammed the fine after Trump’s lawyers revealed in court documents earlier this week that the former president had been unable to secure a large bail amount. This raises the possibility that New York State Attorney General Letitia James will move to seize some of his valuable bail money on the Big Apple property.
“This is the United States of America under siege,” O’Leary said during an appearance on Tuesday’s show. FOX News’ “Inferior”.
Mr. O’Leary, who heads O’Leary Ventures, went on to argue that the seizure of bond assets is unprecedented and “very concerning” for America’s economic brand.
“This is an attack on America, and I don’t know how you can look any other way,” he said.
“And as an investor, and I know a lot of investors who are completely upset about this…but until this thing settles down, no one in New York is going to put this much money into the Probably not.”
President Trump, 77, has until March 25 to pay off the huge sum under a bombshell ruling handed down last month by Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron.
The AG, who successfully argued in court that Trump exaggerated his net worth by billions of dollars a year in financial statements to get better terms on loans and insurance, has previously accused Trump of making payments. If not, he has hinted that he will go after his landmark property.
“I think New Yorkers should think carefully about President Trump. It doesn’t matter whether he’s president or not, or whether this attorney general leaves office after four years,” O’Leary said.
“This is a case against the American brand. The most stable country on earth to put capital to work over the long term, especially in real estate, is the United States.”
“I think this is an attack on what we believe to be core, and it’s extraordinary. I think it’s very troubling. In my view, it has nothing to do with Donald Trump at this point. . And it’s completely bipartisan,” he added.
This comes as President Trump lashed out at Judge Engoron in a series of Truth Social posts on Tuesday, calling Judge Engoron a “corrupt puppet” who is enslaving the attorney general and saying that paying that amount is “effectively… This was after declaring that it was impossible.
“Mr. Engoron laughed in disdain when the Appellate Division, a higher court, issued a ruling that essentially ended most of the case and refused to abide by the ruling. This happened in New York State. “This is the first time I’ve ever seen one,” Trump wrote in a furious post.

Mr. Trump’s lawyers filed papers on Monday seeking forgiveness for the huge payout, but his lawyers said it would be “insurmountable” for Mr. Trump to secure the money, despite approaching 30 companies. He said that he was facing “unprecedented difficulties.”
His lawyers argued that the real estate mogul did not need to sell the property in a “fire sale” before the deadline because it would be nearly impossible to get it back at the same price.
“I would be forced to foreclose on great assets or perhaps sell them at a fire sale price, and if I win the appeal, they would be let go. Does that make sense? Witch hunt. Election interference!” Trump said in a subsequent post.
