Sharon Osbourne Reflects on Ozzy’s Passing and Her Struggles
Sharon Osbourne has opened up about her mental state following the death of her husband, Ozzy. She revealed that, at one point, she felt so overwhelmed by grief that she contemplated taking her own life. However, she credits her children as the reason she didn’t go through with it.
In her first interview since Ozzy’s death on Piers Morgan Uncensored, Sharon expressed her deep heartbreak. She mentioned a profound sense of loss and how, without her children, she might have followed Ozzy. “I would have gone with Ozzy… Oh yeah, sure, I did everything I wanted to do,” she admitted in a clip.
Sharon praised her children, saying, “They’ve always been, I’m sorry, unbelievable. All three of them have been amazing to me.” This support, she believes, has been vital in helping her navigate the tough times.
As the conversation continued, Piers pressed Sharon further. He asked, “Are they the reason their kids have to hang out there?” This led Sharon to share some personal experiences that have shaped her perspective on loss and mourning.
She recalled a past mental health crisis where she sought help at a facility. There, she met two young women who had lost their mothers to suicide. Seeing their struggles made Sharon vow never to put her children through such pain.
Sharon is still grappling with life after Ozzy, often thinking about what her future holds. “Every day I think, ‘What am I going to do with myself?'” she shared, pointing to her ongoing adjustment to this new reality.
She mentioned rereading Ozzy’s diary entries and honoring his wish to be buried under a crabapple tree at their property. Sharon visits the spot daily, talking to him as her children do with their brother Louis and Ozzy’s grandson, Elijah.
In her home, she maintains a daily ritual of lighting candles, which she feels is a way to keep Ozzy’s memory alive. However, she confessed that despite the effort, the emptiness of his absence is always felt. “It’s the pain of waking up in the morning, and you can’t get rid of that pain. It’s like a big hole inside you,” she expressed, acknowledging that her children feel this loss deeply, too.
Sharon is currently in the process of working on a film that tells Ozzy’s life story.
