’She Is Never Here’: Residents Of AOC’s District Blast NYC’s Crime Wave, Migrant Crisis

On Tuesday, residents of Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s congressional district blasted New York City’s crime wave and immigration crisis.

“Fox & Friends Weekend” host Rachel Campos-Duffy spoke about disgruntled residents in Ocasio-Cortez’s congressional district around 10 a.m. Tuesday in a segment that aired Saturday morning. “She’s never going to be here,” one woman said of the Democratic lawmaker. “I was volunteering for her. She completely abandoned our community.”

Asked what he would say to Ocasio-Cortez, one man told Campos-Duffy, “We’re going to let her do her job and do a better job of taking care of this community.” Told.

“There are so many immigrants now,” one man told Campos-Duffy. “So many Venezuelans, Ecuadorians, Mexicans are coming across. You know, it’s because of Biden.”

“Are we seeing crime? More crime?” the Fox News host asked.

“Crime? Yes, there’s more crime. There’s more crime happening. There’s a lot of robbers, thugs,” he replied.

One woman told Campos-Duffy that she “couldn’t walk around” in the district after 7 p.m. Another woman mentioned that someone had tried to assault her three times, and she said she felt “she was really in danger.”

A man and a woman who run cafes told Campos-Duffy that their businesses had been “affected” by the crime, and other businesses were closing early as a result.

“The brick-and-mortar business has been hit hard. There are a lot of closed doors and a lot of stores that just close every day because they can’t compete with the prices that the street vendors outside are giving everyone,” said another man. said.

Democratic New York Governor Kathy Hochul announced in early March that she would deploy the National Guard and New York State Police (NYSP) to New York City’s subways. This comes as residents complain that their quality of life has deteriorated due to crime and illegal immigration, according to polling data.
