As one of the most vocal conservative advocates for the causes of prolife, it may come as some shock Ally Beth Stucky I used to be in favor, but I didn't make it happen.
“I always think of myself as driving myself into life. I know reflexively. I was raised in a Christian family that abortion is wrong, that it kills humans, that it's wrong, and that there are also these rare exceptions that I thought need to happen from time to time,” Stucky explains “relationships.”
“I posted something on Facebook to its effect. Perhaps abortion should be wrong and illegal, but there is rape, incest, fetal abnormalities. And I thought it was a sophisticated, subtle, but totally a life-situation,” she continues.

When Stuckey posted this on Facebook, someone answered in the comments and asked what the difference is between a baby pregnant with rape and a baby not pregnant with rape.
“That comment stopped me with my truck,” she recalls. “I think it really had a big impact on the way I started thinking about abortion, but I realized at that moment, or as someone who firmly called myself a pro-life, as an abstract issue, as a political issue, and not as a baby's point of view, but as a murder.”
She eventually changed her mind when she changed the lens she saw what she thought was just a “procedure.”
“I wasn't thinking about it realistic, harsh, words– that it means that it kills a child and the humanity of the person being killed doesn't change based on the circumstances surrounding that conception,” she explains.
“I don't know who that commenter is, but I'm grateful to them,” she continues, adding, “and you don't know how God uses your claim when he speaks the truth of love.”
