LeBron James Praises Browns Rookie Shedeur Sanders

After a standout play during the first half of Sunday’s matchup against the San Francisco 49ers, LeBron James took to social media to commend Cleveland Browns rookie Shedeur Sanders. The quarterback executed a perfect pass to Harold Fannin Jr., who ran it in for a touchdown. Following that, Sanders added a two-point conversion with a 34-yard touchdown toss, allowing the Browns to snag a brief lead.

James, the star of the Los Angeles Lakers, encouraged Sanders with a message, saying, “Really read and pass the 12! Keep going!” This touchdown marked Sanders’ second of the season, following his recent win against the Las Vegas Raiders. It was also his second career start, stepping in as the primary quarterback after Dillon Gabriel cleared concussion protocols.

Nonetheless, despite some individual achievements—like Myles Garrett having a remarkable year in total sacks—the Browns’ season hasn’t quite panned out as hoped. Interestingly, Sanders is already the third quarterback the team has turned to this season; they initially started with Joe Flacco. Drafted in the fifth round, Sanders climbed the depth chart after beginning the year in the QB3 position.

Earlier this week, amidst swirling rumors and distractions, he mentioned that his singular focus was on the 49ers. “What people do outside of the building is really not within my control,” Sanders remarked. He expressed gratitude for Coach Stefanski’s support, noting, “We’re doing a really great job with everything that’s going on. He tells me what to do on and off the field. We’ve definitely grown; our relationship and everything has grown.”
