Shedeur Sanders, Travis Hunter have largest disability insurance in CFB history to cover their bowl game

Colorado's Shedur Sanders and Travis Hunter are doing something that some NFL draft picks don't. It's about playing in your school's bowl game.

To face BYU in the Alamo Bowl on Dec. 28, Sanders and Hunter have historic disability insurance in case either of them is seriously injured during the game.

“We have a lot of draft-eligible players and they've got draft grades. They have disability (insurance) throughout the season. If something happens, they'll cover it. We want to make sure,” head coach Dion said. Sanders said at a press conference Monday.

“We just happen to have two players who are the first No. 2 picks in the NFL Draft. I think everyone knows who those two are and they're probably the most covered players of all time. “I think he's far better than anyone who's ever played this game of college football, so we're happy and excited,” Sanders continued.

Rick George, the athletic director at the University of Colorado, confirmed Sanders' statement that the policy is the best in college football history.

George said multiple times that it was Sanders' idea to file additional insurance claims for Shedule Sanders and Hunter.
