Shiro Sanders is currently a free agent after being exempted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers following his ejection from a preseason game against the Buffalo Bills. Unfortunately, he hasn’t been able to secure a spot either with the Buccaneers or another team’s practice squad. With only a few days left before the 2025 regular season kicks off, he’s contemplating the next steps in his career.
Reflecting on his journey, Sanders mentioned, “I feel this is just part of my story to grow and do bigger and better.” He recognizes that whether he finds another NFL team or explores other opportunities, it’s all part of the process. Grateful for his time in Tampa, he expressed appreciation for the love and support he received from the city, teammates, and coaches.
Interestingly, he also hinted at potential careers outside of football, such as music and modeling. “I’m in talks with agents and waiting for the next opportunity. If it’s in the NFL, great, but I know I have talents that extend beyond just football,” he added.
Meanwhile, his father, Deion Sanders, shared his thoughts earlier this week, expressing pride in his son. He mentioned, “As a father, I’ve prepared for all kinds of situations in life and sports for my children.” Deion feels optimistic about Shiro’s mental and physical readiness and emphasized that there’s already a plan in place for what happens next, regardless of whether he joins a new team.
“I believe Shiro will be just fine in whatever he chooses to pursue,” he assured. There’s confidence in the talent and resilience that runs in the Sanders family, and it seems Shiro’s future, whatever it may hold, will be bright.
