Boeing’s aircraft have come under intense scrutiny as a series of problems arise with the aircraft.
“I see a headline every other day, and it’s usually United Airlines,” said Sara Gonzalez, referring to a headline that says “Boeing flight has problems.”
Aircraft failures are certainly very alarming, and this is no different. “A former Boeing employee known for raising concerns about the company’s production standards has been found dead in the United States,” Sarah reports.
John Barnett worked for Boeing for 32 years before retiring in 2017.
“In the days before his death, he was actually involved in a whistleblower testimony lawsuit against Boeing,” Sarah said, adding that Barnett reportedly died from a “self-inflicted gunshot wound.” .
“In 2019 [Barnett] told the BBC that workers under pressure were deliberately fitting substandard parts onto aircraft on the production line. He said they had discovered a serious problem with the oxygen system, which could cause one in four breathing masks to fail in an emergency. He said that soon after he started working in South Carolina, he became concerned that the push to build new aircraft would speed up the assembly process and compromise safety. ”
Of course, Boeing denied all allegations.
“I think that analysis shows who was right, and I don’t think it was Boeing,” Sarah says.
Quoting Barnett’s lawyer, she said: He was in great spirits and really looking forward to putting this phase of his life behind him and moving on. There was no indication that he would take his own life. I can’t believe anyone. ”
However, according to reports, “there was a suicide note” next to Barnett.
“Hotel staff found him after someone contacted the hotel to check on his well-being. He had a gunshot wound near his right temple with his right index finger still on the trigger,” Sarah said. said, citing the report.
“I don’t know if I’m going to stick to my guns after doing something like that,” she said skeptically, adding that Boeing is a “very powerful” company.
“Let me say this,” says Eric July of Ripperverse Comics. “If there’s any company that can solve the problem, it’s definitely them.”
