‘Should not see the light of day’

A spokesman for the Trump campaign has slammed “The Apprentice,” the controversial new movie that depicts the 45th president’s rise to fame, and said the campaign will file a lawsuit against the filmmakers.

“We intend to file a lawsuit to address the blatantly false claims made by these fake filmmakers,” Trump campaign spokesman Stephen Chan told the paper.

“This garbage is pure fiction, sensationalizing a lie that has long been debunked,” he added.

The Apprentice, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival on Monday, is inspired by true events and depicts Donald Trump’s rise through New York high society in the 1970s and 1980s. It is claimed that

The film, directed by Iranian-Danish filmmaker Ali Abbasi, includes a shocking scene in which President Trump violently rapes his late ex-wife Ivana.

Ivana Trump, who died in July 2022, claimed sexual assault in her 1989 divorce affidavit, but recanted the allegation more than 25 years later.

“This story is completely without merit,” Ivana said in a July 2015 statement, about a month after her ex-husband launched his first presidential campaign.

“This ‘movie’ is pure malicious defamation and should never see the light of day, or even deserve to be in the direct-to-consumer DVD section of the bargain bin of a soon-to-be-closed discount movie store.” It’s a dumpster fire. I belong,” Cheung’s statement to the Post continued.

Trump campaign advisers have claimed that the premiere of the film, which comes less than six months before the 77-year-old former president faces off against President Biden at the polls, amounts to “election interference.”

“Like the illegal Biden trial, this is election interference by Hollywood elites. They believe that nothing they’ve done has worked, so President Trump will take back the White House and the candidate of their choice will take over.” “I know how to defeat people,” Chan said.

U.S. distribution rights to “The Apprentice” have not yet been sold.

The film stars Sebastian Stan as a young Donald Trump and Maria Bakalova as Ivana.

Jeremy Strong, of “Succession” fame, also plays a key role as Roy Cohn, Trump’s ruthless former lawyer and fixer.

Billionaire Dan Snyder, one of the film’s investors, was reportedly “outraged” by the portrayal of the alleged Republican presidential nominee, according to Variety.

The former owner of the Washington Commanders, who is friends with President Trump, apparently hoped the film would be a “flattering tribute to the 45th president.” the outlet said.
