Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said MSNBC's “all” impact of shutting down the federal government would be worse than voting for a House fundraising bill.
He said that President Donald Trump and Elon Musk's vicious “bastards” will destroy democracy.
Schumer said, “Under the closure, it's the administrative department. In this case, Trump, Musk, Doge and Vokol are the only control over who we all recognize, what is heinous and troublesome, funded and what they don't get to decide what is the essential service. And they cut to Smithereens, which is a terrible bill, much bigger than the CR bill. So much bigger, what was funded and what could not be done? And you don't rely on them. You can't go to court, because this is a decision entirely in the administrative department, so it's devastating.”
He continued. “There's no exit ramp. People who want a shutdown. I asked them, well, how do you get out of it? Who do you think will be getting out of it? Donald Trump, Elon Musk, Doge. So that's just too bad an option. And I actually respect those who don't want to vote for CR.
Schumer added: It's far better not being in the middle of a shutdown. This is not only a cut of all these people, but it ruins democracy, to divert people from the biggest issues we have with these bastards. ”
