Sinaloa cartel member acknowledges that Trump's enforcement is complicating their activities.

In a recent conversation with CNN’s David Culver, a confidential leader of the Sinaloa cartel expressed that President Donald Trump’s actions have actually complicated their operations. This administration’s commitment to combating cartels, notorious for crime along America’s southern borders, seems to be having a tangible impact.

The Sinaloa cartel members, attempting to maintain their anonymity, donned masks and hats during the interview. One member admitted to handling various criminal activities, including coordinating smuggling efforts.

When asked if Trump’s initiatives have made their work more challenging, he simply confirmed, “Yes.” This response, though brief, underlines the cartel’s belief that their operations are under increasing pressure.

Culver further noted that Trump’s campaigns against drug traffickers were affecting cartel practices. Reportedly, the cartel has raised its fees for smuggling immigrants, charging around $6,500, which is a burden for many. Consequently, immigrants often find themselves in significant debt to the cartel.

In discussions about violence linked to cartel activities, a member underscored that they view their actions as self-defense. “You have something wrong with me, I’ll do something bad to you,” he remarked, justifying their actions in a rather chilling way. They also aimed to warn others against following a path steeped in crime.

There’s an ongoing war with the cartels, which carries severe implications, particularly as the heirs of “El Chapo” navigate this precarious landscape. As the situation evolves, the complex dynamics between law enforcement, politics, and organized crime continue to unfold, often in unpredictable manners.

Culver inquired about the possibility of leaving this lifestyle behind. The response was stark: those entrenched in the cartel’s world feel trapped, unable to step back into a normal life without facing dire consequences.
