Karina Pacián Sings National Anthem at NFL Game in Madrid
Karina Pacián was selected to perform “The Star-Spangled Banner” at the inaugural regular season NFL game in Madrid, featuring the Miami Dolphins versus the Washington Commanders.
Dressed in a black minidress, thigh-high stockings, and garters, Pasian took the field to deliver the national anthem. While her singing was generally well-received, some fans took issue with her outfit during the performance.
This sparked a lively debate among NFL supporters on social media about her choice of attire.
Despite the backlash, Pacián remained unfazed, sharing on Instagram how honored she felt to sing the anthem in front of a large crowd in Spain. “Thank you so much @nfl for the amazing opportunity! It was an honor to sing the national anthem at my first NFL game in Spain!!” she wrote alongside a collage of her performance pictures.
Pacián has been in the music scene for a while, with her R&B album “First Love” making waves back in August 2008, reaching number 11 on the US R&B chart and number 57 overall.
Over the years, she has produced several EPs and singles, with her most recent EP, “Something Warm to Wear,” released in 2020.
On the field, the Dolphins managed to secure a narrow victory against the Commanders, ending the game 16-13.
