Sister of slain Army soldier decides to run for Rep. Al Green’s seat after seeing him interrupt Trump’s congressional address

Texas Democrat Al Green will face the sturdy challenge of maintaining a seat in Congress from the sisters of killing Army soldier Vanessa Gillen.

Greene screamed at Trump at the start of his address, until Louisiana Republican Speaker Mike Johnson was ordered to remove him from his House room.

“After seeing rudeness from @Potus last night, as well as @RepalGreen, our district, state and country, I think it's time to take part in the fight like I did for my sister Vanessa Guillen!” she wrote. “It's time to finish off the publicity exhibited by these politicians, and to support @potus and his incredible admiration for making America great again!

With the announcement, she posted photos of herself and the president in her oval office.

Gillen has never held public office before, but has become politically active after the tragic murder of her sister.

Vanessa Guillen went missing from a military base in Fort Hood in 2020, and her body was found in a shallow grave two months later. Another soldier was suspected of killing her, but he committed suicide as investigators closed him. Her family has since revealed that Gillen had been sexually assaulted but had feared reporting the abuse due to fear of retaliation.

Congress has passed a new law on reporting sexual harassment in the military in the efforts of Meira Gillen.

Green has represented Texas' 9th Congressional District for 20 years. He was later condemned for his actions in Trump's speech.
