Jordan Discusses Intelligence Director’s Criminal Referrals
During a segment on FNC’s “Hornity,” Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) highlighted the National Intelligence Director’s move to send criminal referrals to the Justice Department related to the Obama administration’s involvement in the Trump-Russia conspiracy investigation.
Jordan expressed to host Sean Hannity that the situation is “worse than we thought.”
“It all started in 2016, not just hindering Trump’s 2016 election prospects but also undermining his presidency after he took office,” Jordan remarked. He referenced a meeting called by Obama at the White House on December 9, 2016, which included members of the intelligence community and the Department of Justice. He mentioned key figures like Lynch, Clapper, and Brennan being present. “We’re not going to assess the intelligence community; instead, we’re putting everything on hold,” he claimed Obama asserted. A few weeks later, on January 3, Chuck Schumer appeared on a Sunday show, questioning potential damage to the intelligence community as Trump was about to take office.
He continued, “Three days later, in January, during a meeting at Trump Tower, members of the Intelligence community including Comey, Brennan, and Clapper met with President Trump. What he expected was a standard defensive briefing, but it turned out to be a setup. Then the press reported it, which gave it credibility. Comey informed Trump about the Russian documents, labeling them as unfounded. The entire operation seemed designed to derail Trump’s presidency. This is just the beginning of how government was weaponized against him,” he added.
“And you are right on your first point, Sean,” he concluded. “We’ve known about this for a few years now, but the extent of it is worse than we anticipated. The more we investigate, the clearer it becomes.”
