Bigfoot Sightings Reported in Northeast Ohio
A recent string of social media activity from a podcast focused on cryptids has led to speculation about a surge in Bigfoot sightings in northeast Ohio. Enthusiasts are calling attention to this unusual spike in reported encounters.
The Bigfoot Association, which is dedicated to gathering eyewitness accounts of Sasquatch experiences, noted that it received six separate reports between March 6 and March 10 in wooded areas near Mantua and Garrettsville, located southeast of Cleveland.
The cluster of sightings has been characterized as a “flap,” which is a term used in cryptozoology to describe multiple sightings occurring in a brief period.
Jeremiah Byron, host of the Bigfoot Society Podcast, remarked, “While Bigfoot sightings happen all over the country, it’s pretty rare to see so many in such a small area within a short timeframe,” he shared.
According to the summary provided by the organization, the reported encounters include:
- March 6: Witnesses observed a brown figure estimated to be around 9 feet tall.
- March 7: An 8-foot tall brown figure was reported along with footprints and a deep growl.
- March 9: A dark figure, also described as 8 feet tall, was seen.
- March 9: Another sighting detailed a 10-foot tall black figure, noted for having a heavy, musky odor.
- March 9: Witnesses spotted a 6-foot brown figure through a window from about 100 feet away.
- March 10: A “large black shadow” standing between 8 to 10 feet tall, which did not resemble a bear, was reported.
The Bigfoot Association has urged residents in Portage County to “be cautious,” suggesting that “something might be roaming through this area.” One member in their social media group, which boasts 282,000 members, advised that those in the vicinity should “keep an eye out and possibly secure their doors, as there could be a Bigfoot nearby.”
There are also claims from some Bigfoot hunters who assert they have had close encounters, even “locking eyes” with a 9-foot-tall Sasquatch.
Interestingly, the Bigfoot Association hasn’t provided any photos, videos, or other independently verified evidence to support these reports.
Byron expressed excitement for the community, stating, “We didn’t expect to see this many sightings in such a short time again.”
