At least six people on a United Airlines flight bound for New Jersey were hospitalized Friday after the plane was diverted to an airport in upstate New York due to strong winds and passengers feeling unwell, officials said.

The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration told Fox News Digital that the plane originally departed from Tel Aviv, Israel.

New Windsor Ambulance Service said in a social media post that 25 lifeguards and paramedics responded to New Windsor Airport after the plane hit turbulence.

However, a United spokesperson told Fox News Digital there was no “extreme disruption.”

“One passenger was removed from the plane due to a medical emergency, and several other passengers were evaluated by medical personnel for possible motion sickness,” United Airlines said in a statement. “The plane refueled and headed to Newark tonight.”

Of the 310 passengers and crew on board, several were treated for minor injuries and six were taken to local hospitals.
