Aftermath of Plane Crash in Tennessee
On Sunday, June 8, 2025, a plane with approximately 20 individuals on board experienced a crash shortly after departing from Tarahoma Regional Airport. Emergency response teams, including the Tarahoma Police Department and the Tennessee Highway Patrol, quickly arrived at the scene. Some passengers were airlifted to local hospitals for treatment.
According to reports, the aircraft encountered unspecified problems soon after takeoff and subsequently struck trees and terrain. Three individuals were flown to a hospital, while one person, who had more severe injuries, was transported by ground. Additional minor injuries were addressed on-site by first responders.
Fortunately, there have been no official reports of fatalities. Officials noted during a press conference that they are grateful for the prompt response of emergency teams and are hopeful for the recovery of those affected. They also mentioned that the ground facilities at the airport sustained no damage, and no injuries were reported among those on the ground.
The plane involved was identified as a DeHavilland DH-6 Twin Otter, which is often used for skydiving operations. An investigation is underway, with the National Traffic Safety Board (NTSB) expected to lead the probe. Local authorities are currently advising the community to steer clear of the area as they assess the situation further.
