Tragic Sledding Accident Claims Lives of Two Texas Teens
In a heartbreaking incident, a second Texas teen has passed away following a sledding accident that initially took the life of her close friend. Family members and local authorities have confirmed this sad news.
Frisco police reported on Wednesday that a 16-year-old girl died from her injuries at a hospital. The deceased teen was identified as Grace Brito, while the other victim was previously named as Elizabeth Angle.
Grace’s mother, Tracy Brito, revealed that her daughter had recently gotten her driver’s license and was eager to register as an organ donor. “We’re still working on the process to honor Gracie’s wishes,” Tracy shared. “She always wanted to make others happy. It’s unfair that such a good person was taken too soon.”
Elizabeth’s mother, Megan Angle, spoke about their strong bond on Facebook, mentioning how they were best friends. “It provides me some comfort knowing they’re together in heaven,” she expressed, reflecting on the loss of both girls.
The two were sledding together around 3 p.m. on Sunday when the accident occurred. Witness reports suggested that a 16-year-old boy was driving a Jeep Wrangler with the two girls on a sled. Unfortunately, they hit a curb and crashed into a tree.
In light of the incident, police addressed mounting rumors, clarifying that there was no evidence of alcohol being involved. The ongoing investigation continues as authorities keep a close watch on safety amid recent extreme winter weather in the area.
Both Grace and Elizabeth were sophomores at Wakeland High School, where Grace was a cheerleader and Elizabeth played soccer. Their untimely deaths have left a profound impact on their community, with many expressing their condolences and sharing fond memories.
As safety concerns grow, the community is reminded of the dangers posed by icy conditions, underscoring the importance of being cautious during such severe weather. This tragic event has, in some way, united the families and friends in grief and remembrance of two vibrant young lives cut short.
