“Shipment volumes are expected to continue to increase as Biofire continues to increase production capacity, with broader shipments occurring throughout the year,” Biofire told FOX Business on Tuesday.

The company first announced its 9mm Biofire smart gun about a year ago.

Kloepfer told Bartiromo last week that BioFire “will help many gun owners not only properly and securely secure their guns and prevent children from accessing their guns; “I found myself struggling with the challenge of being able to do it.” It’s the fraction of a second you need to gain access during some type of domestic defense emergency. ” Biofire is a smart gun that specializes in home defense, and hopes to contribute to solving this problem, he said.

According to the company’s website, BioFire’s smart guns can only be unlocked and used if they recognize the biometric data of the “authorized” user holding them. Otherwise, it will remain automatically locked.

The gun is also equipped with electronic fire control technology.

Biofire began accepting pre-orders last April, and Kloepfer said it has since received “several thousand” pre-orders. Currently, this smart dock and that smart dock cost him $1,499.

The company’s website Wednesday afternoon listed the “release version” of the Biofire Smart Gun as sold out. Meanwhile, according to the site, orders for batch 4 are expected to be completed and shipped to customers in early 2025.

Fingerprint authentication type 9MM handgun is now available on the market

Biofire smart guns and their technology have been studied for quite some time.

Kloepfer told Bartiromo that his work on smart guns began more than a dozen years ago as a high school science fair project. Biofire itself was founded in 2016.

Past smart gun efforts by companies like Colt and Armatix didn’t go as intended. According to the Wall Street Journal. The reason for this is reportedly due to factors such as skepticism and opposition.

Kloepfer said during an appearance on “Maria Bartiromo’s Wall Street” that Biofire has “so many patents that have been filed and issued that we fundamentally approach in a very different way. “This allows us to actually produce a reliable, high-quality product that gun owners like me can be satisfied with.” You can trust the safety of yourself and your family. ”
