Max Homa’s presence on social media is becoming legendary among PGA Tour pros. He took on the role of destroying and usually destroying fans’ swings.
Now, at Friday’s Arnold Palmer Invitational, Homa, along with NBC Sports’ Smiley Kaufman, happy hour segment.
Of course they I had a great timebut that was Kaufman’s sacrifice.
Kaufman showed Homa a spyglass video of the drive and asked him to burn it.
“Why not bake my golf swing? Because…I can live with it,” Kaufman said with a smile.
“Wow. Whoever did that with shot tracer is a mean person,” Homa retorted after watching the video.
“It’s very hard to do this in person because I have to look you in the face. We’re going to blame that Parker because he’s moving all over the place,” Homa said. said kindly. “I’m glad your name is Smiley. You can keep it in your back pocket.”
But he couldn’t help himself when he learned that Kaufman had inexplicably made par from 50 yards to the right of the green.
“I was shocked beyond belief.”
Homa was understandably in a good mood after Friday’s round. He shot a 3-under 69 and finished the day at 4-under. He is tied for 10th place, just three strokes behind the leader.
Ernie’s Place is one of the most difficult courses on the PGA Tour every year. With stronger winds expected this weekend, if Homa can post another below-average score on Saturday, he should be well on his way to the final round.
That will surely make him feel happy.
