According to the Trump campaign, Snapchat has refused to reinstate the 45th President of the United States, Donald Trump’s account, despite inviting him to advertise on the social media platform.
“Snapchat refused to reinstate President Trump’s account, but then shamelessly invited the Trump campaign to run ads on Snapchat,” the Trump campaign’s X/Twitter account announced in a post on Tuesday.

“Big Tech is going all out for Kamala! Big Tech Censorship!” the War Room added, sharing a screenshot of an email the Trump campaign received from Snapchat.
In an email to the Trump campaign, Snapchat said: “We hope you had a great weekend. To provide a little more context, after speaking with our policy team, we have made the difficult decision to terminate President Trump’s public profile in 2021 due to multiple violations of our policies.”
“Unfortunately, our terms of service do not allow for account reinstatement or for suspended users to create new accounts,” Snapchat continued. “Reinstating profiles would require us to reevaluate and implement an entirely new set of terms of service that does not favor creators on our platform.”
The social media platform solicited financial support from the Trump campaign through ads on Snapchat.
“I Sincerely “We believe Snapchatters are a valuable audience that can be persuaded to support Trump,” Snapchat said. “We reach over 96 million users over the age of 18, allow for the uploading of first-party lists and offer a very competitive CMP ranging from $3 to $6.”
“Given the current profile situation, we remain open to exploring alternatives for the future of our partnership,” the social media platform added. “If your team is skeptical about launching paid media without an organic presence, we strongly encourage you to use the RNC profile or create a new Vance profile.”
“We want to hear your thoughts and appreciate your patience and understanding,” Snapchat ended the email.
While Snapchat has refused to reinstate Trump’s account, the social media platform stokes teen angst by quantifying teen users’ social standing within their friend groups through a friend ranking feature that is part of its paid subscription service.
The feature is just one example of how Silicon Valley giants are putting enormous pressure on young people to become part of the “in crowd,” with one young person saying, “It’s injecting everyone’s biggest fear into the app.” Earlier this year, Snapchat executives were questioned by Congress about online child exploitation.
Notably, other social media platforms have since reinstated Trump’s accounts after blacklisting him as a 2021 presidential candidate.
Elon Musk reinstated President Trump’s account on Twitter X after buying Twitter Inc. and revamping the social media platform. Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta also reinstated the 45th president’s accounts on Facebook and Instagram, and recently lifted additional restrictions on the former president’s account.
Trump’s accounts have been resurrected on those platforms, but the former president only posts on X. one time Since being banned on Jan. 7, 2021, Trump has posted to Facebook and Instagram, but his activity on those platforms has been far less than his activity on his own social media site, Truth Social, which he uses primarily as a megaphone.
