Snoop Dogg celebrates with US swimmer’s wife during gold medal race in heartwarming moment

U.S. swimming star Caleb Dressel was in pursuit of his eighth Olympic gold medal after taking the lead in the men’s 4 x 100-meter freestyle relay final at La Defense Arena in Paris on Saturday night.

While Dressel was giving it her all in the pool in pursuit of America’s first Olympic gold medal in Paris, all the U.S. supporters in the crowd were on their feet and cheering.

Among them were legendary rapper Snoop Dogg and Dressel’s wife Megan, who were seen frolicking together, holding their sleeping baby, as the race came to a dramatic finale.

A video circulating on social media shows Dogg and Dressel yelling into the pool to encourage the U.S. team to win gold — baby Dressel was lucky to be wearing earmuffs so his sleep wasn’t disturbed.

Once the U.S. medal win was assured, Dogg and Dressel high-fived in jubilation.

It’s moments like these that reflect the unity that the Olympics and sport can create: two people from completely different backgrounds, who had likely just met, just rooting for their country to bring home the gold medal.

The 52-year-old rapper legend was in Paris during the opening ceremony and danced with the Olympic torch.

The quartet of Caleb Dressel, Chris Juliano, Jack Alexie and Hunter Armstrong won in a time of 3:09.28, beating rivals Australia, who came in second for the silver medal in 3:10.25.

Italy beat China in 3 minutes 10.70 seconds to win the bronze medal.

The win will set the tone for the rest of the men’s swimming competition, with Australia and China rivaling the U.S. for the world aquatics crown.

After Caleb won the gold medal, Caleb and Megan were in tears during the Dressel family celebration.
