Snoop Dogg was a major gangster rapper in the 1990s, but in recent years he has expressed regret over some of his early music.

In 2018, he revealed his religious beliefs in an interview with gospel artist Kirk Franklin.

“God isn’t doing it with me,” Snoop said.

Franklin asks Snoop what he thought the church could “do better.”

“The first thing a church can do better is… non-judgmental,” Snoop said. “Open your arms. Open them for the worst sinners. I don’t care what he is doing. Put him in.

“Then when you lose it, it’s half the battle, because you are doing God’s work now. You are not judging anyone, you are allowing them to right their spirits, repent, testify, find their way and descend to the altar.”
