‘Snow White’ star suggests desire to ensure Disney’s costly remake is a box-office bomb

Walt Disney Studios is confident
release The company released the trailer for its live-action “Snow White” remake over the weekend, only to be ruined once again by woke leading lady Rachel Zegler.

We’re screwed Disney, which re-released “The Hunger Games” series last year, took to the screens this week to thank people who watched a new trailer for Walt Disney Studios’ next potential tax break.

At the time of publication, the trailer on YouTube had been viewed over 6.3 million times, garnering 65,277 likes and 478,811 dislikes.

“Love you all! Thank you for all the love and thank you for the 120 million views of the trailer in just 24 hours!”
Written Zegler: “It’s been so busy. I’m in the middle of rehearsing Romeo + Juliet, so I’ll be heading out soon. See you.”

Zegler, who stars in the film opposite Israeli actress Gal Gadot, couldn’t resist the temptation to post one more tweet. write“And always remember to liberate Palestine.”

“People joke that we’re the PC version of Snow White, and it certainly is, because that’s what it needed to be.”

Zegler’s tweet was immediately seized upon by critics not only as a criticism of his colleague, but also as further evidence of Disney’s ideological dominance and one-sided tolerance for employees expressing political opinions online.

While Zegler’s tweets are likely to cause a headache for Disney, it’s not the only scandal plaguing the Snow White remake.

In the early stages of the project, the idea that Disney might offer dwarf actors high-paying jobs and screen time in global blockbusters infuriated actor Peter Dinklage, himself a dwarf, and other activists.

Blaze News previously reported that Dinklage had slammed Disney’s “horribly outdated” plans to remake the film, saying:

I was kind of surprised that they were proud to cast a Latina actress as Snow White. But they’re still telling the story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Take a step back and think about what they’re doing there. It doesn’t make any sense to me. It’s progressive in some ways, but they’re still telling a totally outdated story about seven dwarfs living in a cave together?

Following Dinklage’s inaccurate statement (that the dwarfs lived together in an idyllic cottage, not a cave), a Disney spokesperson clarified in 2022 that “we are taking a different approach to these seven characters and are consulting with members of the dwarfism community to avoid reinforcing stereotypes from the original animated film.”

Photographs taken on set last year revealed that the seven “magical characters” who replaced the dwarves were men and women of various races and all of average height, except for one actor who was perfectly suited to the role.

The move itself sparked controversy, and the company ultimately ended up digitally replacing the seven with computer-generated dwarves that appeared in the trailer, a costly and time-consuming endeavor.

Reported Disney required extensive reshoots to prevent Snow White from suffering the same fate as other commercially unsuccessful films, an undertaking that, according to anonymous sources, cost more than $30 million.

Disney sets not only had midget problems, they also had Zegler problems.

Zegler, who was criticized by critics for being oddly cast in the role of “the most beautiful,” stressed from the start that the remake would be politically correct.
tell “The joke is that ours is a PC version of Snow White, and it certainly is, because it needed to be. Though it’s an 85-year-old comic, our version is a refreshing story about a young woman who is more than ‘someday my prince’,” Vanity Fair wrote in October 2022.

In a separate interview, Zegler emphasized his disdain for the original’s straightforward love story, saying, “A lot of people assume that just because we have a man in the movie, it’s a love story, but we approach it differently.”

Zegler’s repeated characterization of the film as a “woke remake” has led to various critics and potential audiences abandoning the film.
