Observatory officials said the incident was filmed on a webcam stationed at the top of nearby Wildcat Mountain, showing snowboarders to the left of the video in the distance.
“After the camera zooms in, snowboarders can see them overtaking the avalanche,” the observatory said. “Fortunately, no one was injured.”
He was lucky – Mount Washington is the highest peak in the northeast and is prone to accidents.
Last year, the 20-year-old skier fell 600 feet into death after falling from the Tuckerman valley.
